FAWS The Friends Of Apley Wood School is an organisation that raises funds for the benefit of the school and its pupils. During the last few years we have improved the foundation stage playground with a donation of over £7000. We have achieved this through the running of school disco’s, summer and Christmas fayre’s and various raffles and competitions. With the funds raised we also provide refreshments during children’s Christmas parties and fund stickers awarded during sports day. At the end of their journey through primary school year six pupils receive a leaver’s gift.
Our aim this year is to improve the outside area of the rest of the school, with the emphasis on sports facilities.
Members
To run a successful PTA we need willing volunteers. We are always looking for fresh ways to raise money and new ideas often come from new people. Our meetings, usually held on Monday’s at 3.30pm, are informal and child care is provided at Apley after school club. We appreciate any help you can offer. If you would like to know more please ask at the school office. Look out for next meeting dates published on the Apley Weekly.
