Online Learning Reminder

Each week, we will be posting Maths and English resources in addition to a weekly challenge each Monday. There will also be MyMaths set twice weekly (Mondays and Wednesday) and TT Rock stars weekly too.

If you would like any additional or alternative work, here is a reminder of all the useful links that you can be accessing from home.

Daily online lessons:

https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom/year-6/#schedule A fantastic resource for virtual teaching. They release 3 lessons a day for different subjects for you to complete. The maths and English ones are particularly useful!
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zhgppg8/year-5-and-p6-lessons/1 BBC Bitesize are also uploading some very useful lessons to be completed daily. Although the science and history topics don’t currently match our curriculum (Science – Space / History – Anglo Saxons vs Vikings), definitely have a go at the maths, English, music and well-being activities.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach BBC are releasing lots of online lessons every each day. Go through and select any resources appropriate for KS2 (it may say 7-11 year olds)

Year 5 Weekly Challenge

This week’s challenge takes advantage of the – hopefully – nice weather.

As it’s the time of year when sports day would normally be taking place, we would like you to come up with your own sporting event that you and your family could take part in. For example, an obstacle course, goal shots, egg and spoon race etc. As always, we would love to have some photos sent in which we can put up on our class pages.

Virtual STW School Games – Challenge 4

Challenge 4 for the Virtual STW School Games is BOCCIA!!!!

Please send in a video and a photo along with your best score (you can use the score sheet attached if you wish).
All videos/photos and scores should be sent to schoolgames@energizestw.org.uk
You must include the child’s name, age, year group and school and whether there is parental consent for videos/photos to be shared on their social media platforms.
We would also love it if you could cc us into the email so that we can admire your skills and share them on the school website: april.whitehouse@taw.org.uk and courtnie.cassidy@taw.org.uk

Home learning update – Base 10 and Base 12

Xavier and Freya have been enjoying painting, general art and baking. Also, they have been planting seeds and enjoying the daily routine of watering them and analysing their growth. They are keeping a close eye on and looking after carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, sunflowers and more flowers.

We are all very impressed with you both. Well done!
