At Apley Wood School we have wonderful facilities to accommodate the many learning activities and adventures that we have with the children.
Our school building comprises well equipped classrooms, an extensive library, school hall with kitchens where dinners are cooked on site and many other areas that we make good use of during each school day.
Accessibility
We pride ourselves on being a school which actively seeks to be fully accessible. Our ground floor is wheel chair accessible for pupils and parents due to wide corridors, appropriate width door openings, automatic release fire doors enabling independent access around the building. Disabled toilets are located in both key stages including shower facilities (including Argeo bed) in Key Stage One. Outdoor areas are accessible in the main. All classes are fitted with window blinds and carpets to improve access for children with sensory needs.
Our grounds are surprisingly extensive and include wonderful tree-lined playing fields and pitches, a great range of interesting play equipment and zones including our superb pirate ship!
We also have garden areas for budding horticulturalists, a large playground and quiet areas too. For children who cycle to school we provide useful bike racks.
