Artist Research 10/1/23

The children explored the work of their new artist of the term, Roy Lichtenstein. They discussed what they could see in his piece of artwork called ‘Wham!’ and gave their opinion about his work. They mind mapped their thoughts – what great team ant skills!

Measuring in Maths 11/01/23

Today Base 3 learned how to use a ruler accurately and measured some items around the classroom in centimetres.

Homework Reminder

Welcome back to school. Here are some reminders of our routines in Base 3 and 4.

Homework – all log in details will be available in the back of reading diaries.

Reading – we would ideally like you to listen to your children read 3 times a week. Children have the opportunity to win ‘reader of the week’ each week for their efforts in reading.

Spellings – spellings will be sent home on a weekly basis and the children will be tested on a Friday.

Maths Homework – every week, children should spend a minimum of 15 minutes on Numbots. If they would also like to play on Times Table Rockstars, they can do.

Homework Projects – these are set at termly and the children will be given more details about this towards the end of the Spring term.

Physical Education – children will wear their P.E kits to school on their P.E days so will not need to be in uniform.

Indoor P.E – Wednesday

Outdoor P.E – Thursday

If you have any questions, please ask your class teacher.

Year 2 Forest School

This morning we were extremely busy making some houses out of cardboard boxes as we were going to Forest School to recreate The Great Fire of London.

Before burning the houses, the children enjoyed toasting marshmallows for their s’mores and drinking hot chocolate.

They also got chance to explore the forest school area which they thoroughly enjoyed.

What a fantastic way to finish the term off – thank you Mr Yardley!

Baarmy Bethlehem – 15.12.2022

What fantastic performances from the children in Key Stage 1 today! You blew everyone’s socks off and your teachers are extremely proud of you all!

Well done!
