We have taken the difficult decision to close to school entirely from 10th April (Good Friday). Our friends at Millbrook have kindly offered our key worker children spaces at their site for the second week of the holidays.
The decision to close was made in consultation with the Local Authority, as a precautionary measure, following a member of school support staff testing positive for Covid 19. As a result we will not, at present, be taking any further requests for bookings for key worker Easter provision. Existing/confirmed bookings will be honoured and those parents have been contacted separately about the arrangements for their child/children. Our member of staff is now being well looked after and closely monitored in hospital and I am sure you will join us in wishing them a speedy recovery.
Apley Wood will be having a deep clean across the whole site next week during the closure to ensure that we are safe and able to continue to offer the critical emergency childcare provision from Monday 20th April.
If you do need critical emergency childcare because you have no other option and wish to make a request for your child to be included in this provision from 20th April, please contact us via A2190@taw.org.uk as the phone lines with be unmanned from tomorrow (10th April). If we have already confirmed your child has a place you do not need to contact us again.
Thank you for your continued support though this difficult time.
We wish you all a lovely Easter weekend
Apley Wood Team
