Headteacher’s Message

We have been celebrating the diversity we have in school this week.  We have celebrated the many different languages our children speak and each class has completed an activity to recognise and celebrate this diversity in school.  We have also shared our new welcome sign with the children which demonstrates many of the languages our children speak and is displayed in the office area. As part of our continued celebration of Diversity next week, we will be taking part in the NSPCC fundraising kindness challenge and spreading acts of kindness around school, demonstrating tolerance and mutual respect for others.  Please support us by sending in a small donation.  We work very closely with the NSCPCC and every donation goes to supporting their work with Childline.

Headteacher’s message 22.09.2023

It has been another great week in school.  I’ve been visiting classrooms this week looking at learning and have seen some fantastic efforts.  Our reception children have started their first formal phonic lessons this week and have been brilliant.  Congratulations to our new House Captains and School Council members, I know they are going to have a great contribution in school this year. I have also had some visitors in school, over the last two weeks, all of whom have commented on the very calm learning environment and the lovely manners our children have. Our children are responding well to the three rules: Be ready, be respectful and be safe.

Well done to everyone who has received a Headteacher Award this week.  I am very proud of them all.

Autumn Term Parent Consultations

This year, following feedback from parents and staff, we are trialling an online booking system for parent consultations in October.  From next week, you will be able to book your Autumn term face to face parent consultation online via scopay, using your current log in details.  We hope that this will make the process easier for everyone involved.  You will receive a letter next week with more details about how to book and when the booking system will open.  We have opted to return to face to face appointments this year to ensure parents have chance to see and celebrate their children’s work in books.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

Headteacher’s message

Another lovely week in school, despite the very changeable weather! We have listened to pupil and parent feedback over the last academic year and have developed our lunchtime activity provision even further for this year.

Following our Happy lunchtime training in February, we introduced the activity zones for KS1 and KS2 which have been working very well.  From September, we have now increased our activity provision through Cross Bar coaching, who deliver an additional sporting activity at lunchtimes for KS2 children, and our TA team are also offering an additional activity every lunchtime for both Rec/KS1 and KS2.  These activities range from games, story sessions, team building activities and gardening.  We also have a wellbeing activity for 30 minutes in the library every lunchtime, run by our pastoral team. We believe this offer is going to support children to enjoy a positive lunch hour, and develop their play and social skills with their friends.

Congratulations to everyone who has taken part in the School council and House Captain elections recently.  We have seen some very mature speeches and presentations.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Safeguarding Squad

We are delighted to share our Safeguarding Squad for the school year.  These children from Year 5 and Year 6 will be working alongside Mr Yardley and Mrs Smith, supporting us with pupil voice activities to keep children safe and deliver very important messages through class workshops and assemblies.
