PE
Base 2 enjoyed playing a range of team games such as Sharks, Cat and Mouse, UFOs and Duck, Duck Goose. We spoke about the importance of team work and how this can help us everyday. The children all received a house point for their Team Ant skills.

Ways in which you can support your child are to:
Practise reading different individual sounds your child finds difficult –  sounds your child needs to learn have been given to you at parents evening.
Support your child to blend the sounds to read the word e.g. m-a-t = mat
When your child is confident blending aloud, encourage them to read in their head ‘Fred in their head’.

Please ensure your child’s reading book and reading diary stay in your child’s plastic folder which comes to school every day so your child can read with an adult in school. We aim to listen to your child at least once a week.

Books will only be updated when your child can read the words fluently.

Theme
This half term, our topic is Animal Magic.

This week we read Dear Zoo.  Check out our animal movements. The children enjoyed exercising and pretending to move like different animals.

Can you guess which animal I am?

The children will be writing a letter of their own to the zoo next week asking for which pet they would like to receive.

Reminders

APOLOGIES – IT IS NOT RECEPTION’S PARENT LUNCH NEXT WEEK AS PREVIOUSLY POSTED.

Also, we have an author visit next Friday 19th when Reception will get to meet with Sarah Griffiths. We are very excited by this!

Thank you for your continued support,

The EYFS Team.

EYFS Summer Homework Project

Summer Homework Project

Next half term, our topic is called ‘Journeys’. The children will be read a variety of books where the characters set off on their own journey. In particular, the children will read Whatever Next by Mae Jemison. This story is about Baby Bear who finds a rocket, makes friends with an owl, and has a picnic on the moon!

In preparation for this, we would like the children to create their own rocket! We encourage you to use lots or recyclable materials e.g., toilet rolls, cardboard boxes and also to paint your final creation to take it to the next level!

Please can your rocket/picture of your child holding the rocket be brought to school by Friday 9Th June.

Many thanks,

The EYFS Team

Parent Questionnaire

The parent questionnaire is now open for submissions.

The average time to complete the previous survey was just under 5 mins.
