Headteacher’s message

Well done to Year 1, who demonstrated exemplary behaviour and had a fantastic time on their visit to Warwick castle this week.  A big thank you to the parent volunteers who went with them, without you we wouldn’t be able to take our children on so many visits and we really appreciate your support.

Thank you to those parents who completed the parent annual survey.  It has now closed and we have had an overwhelmingly positive response.  We will take note of your feedback and suggestions for improvement and I will share any developments with you soon.

It is our smooth move transition morning on Monday.  The staff team are excited to meet their new classes and parents and carers will have opportunity to come and meet the class teacher and see the new classroom on Monday 8th July, 3.30pm – 4.pm.

Please have a look at the message on the newsletter and website about changes to Attendance guidance and penalty fines.  As far as we are aware, these Government changes will still come into effect in August and it is important that anyone who is considering a request for a holiday during term time from September is aware of the increased fines.

Well done to everyone who has received a Headteacher’s Award this week:

Amelia F, Rudi W, Darcy C, Isabella P, Solana S, Reuben M, Harry C, Emily CM, Oliver H, Coby-Jack T, Joshua Y, Evie-Rose M, Bronwen M, Riley W, Emmy C, Michelle A, Lloyd L, Elbie S, Casey C, Olivia IC, Base 5, Base 6, Base 9, Base 10

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

New ‘Tech Team’ 2024/25 – 28.06.24

In September, there will be a new ‘Tech Team’ working with Mrs Stinson to ensure that our Computing curriculum runs smoothly.

Responsibilities will include ensuring devices are stored and charged correctly, running assemblies linked to Online Safety and be a part of the organisation and running of the Internet Safety Day assembly and activities.

This responsibility is open to current Year 4 and Year 5 pupils only (September Year 5 and 6 pupils).

Any children interested should tell Mrs Stinson and write a letter outlining reasons as to why they should be considered to be a part of the team by Wednesday 10th July.

Lost Property (28.06.2024)

Following the lovely weather we have had recently we have a number of pairs of sunglasses in lost property.  If these or any of the other items in the picture belong to your child, please collect them from the school office.

Year 5 – DT – 28.06.24

This week, Year 5 have been making ‘Doodlers’ in DT.

We have been looking at closed series circuits, product design, product function and form to create a toy.

Here are some images from our lesson today. All of Year 5 have shown brilliant resilience, team work, resourcefulness and reflection on their designs.

Well done Year 5!

Warwick Castle 26.06.24

Year 1 had a fantastic time at Warwick Castle on Wednesday! They explored the castle, saw a jousting show, a falconry display, a Zog performance and many more exciting things. The children behaved beautifully and we were very proud of them all, especially as it was so hot and busy. They were a credit to Apley Wood Primary Academy!
