Apley Wood yesterday entered in the TWSSP Cross Country event at Chetywnd Deer park competing against over 12 schools and over 200 Children. Apley Wood did extremely well never giving up and completed every race.  It is an incredible achievement for our children to finish in the top 15.

Forest school. 18.04.24

Year one had a great time in forest school today. We looked for signs of spring and planted seeds.

Chick watch day 2

When we learnt about the incubator, we found out that there needed to be two trays of water in the bottom to help keep the environment ‘humid’. When Mrs Garraway was topping up the trays she heard the sound of tweeting coming from the eggs. Some of the children were able to hear it too before we quickly put the top back on to make sure they all stayed warm. We hope that we will start to meet some of chicks really soon now!

Year 3 DT 14.4.24

This half term, Year 3 are doing sewing in DT linked to their History topic of the Romans. We looked at some different types of stitches as well as how to thread a needle.

Year 5 PE – Cricket – 16.04.24

This half term, in PE, we are learning about Cricket. Luckily, Mrs Stinson’s husband is an avid cricketer and has sent in his full cricket kit for us to look at. This inspired us to get stuck in to our introduction to bowling out on the field.
