WB 04.03.24 – Year 1’s Visit to Christ Church in Wellington

Year 1 had a fantastic morning at Christ Church in Wellington. We’ve learnt about 7 important features of a Church; the organ, the pulpit, the font, the altar, the stained glass windows, the door and the lectern.

We enjoyed listening to Father Stuart read a passage from the Bible and Ann playing ‘All things bright and beautiful’ on the organ.

It was a fantastic morning!

Thank you to all of the members of the church for running the visit, and for the parents helpers who joined us on the trip.

Base 4’s Rockets – 05/03/2024

Year 2 have been studying Roy Lichtenstein in their art lessons this term. They had a blast creating their very own rocket sculptures, inspired by Lichtenstein’s work. I am sure you will agree that their creations look out of this world!

Bean seed experiment

Today we started our bean seed experiment. We followed the instructions and made a prediction about what we thought would happen. We put one bean in a bag with a wet paper towel and one in a bag without a wet paper towel. We then taped it to the classroom window. We are all excited to see what will happen to the bean seeds. Maybe they will turn into our own beanstalk!

Base 3’s trip to RAF Cosford Museum

Base 3 have had a fantastic time visiting Cosford today. All of the children enjoyed learning about the different planes and helicopters. Some of them were huge – big enough to fit tanks inside. We also had a super time making our own rockets and then firing them across the hangar. Trying on RAF uniforms from different periods of history was also great fun. Well done for the great behaviour and I look forward to your writing about the visit next week.

Base 4’s Trip to RAF Museum Cosford – 01/03/2024

Base 4 have had an incredible day at RAF Cosford! They learnt all about gravity, thrust and aerodynamics when creating and launching their own rockets. They also got to try on flying equipment from the past and pretend they were pilots. They were amazed to see 2 aeroplanes and an air ambulance taking off. What a fabulous learning experience! Thank you very much to all of the parent helpers who came and supported us on our trip and a big well done to Base 4 for their excellent behaviour when representing our school.
