Headteacher’s Message 24/11/2023
I’ve had a few children ask me about Christmas cards this week, so our Christmas postbox is ready for use.
Children will be able to bring in Christmas cards to post from next week. These will then be delivered to classes and distributed by the adults every Friday. It’s beginning to feel like Christmas in school as we have a lot of activities and events planned over the rest of this half term. I have sent a separate letter with a list of important dates. Please contact the office if you have not received this by email, so that we can check we have the correct email address for you.

Year 2 Forest School – 23.11.2023
Year 2 had a brilliant afternoon at Forest School making and tasting bread as part of their history learning. They looked at how bread would have been made around the time of the Great Fire of London, when Thomas Farriner’s bread oven started the unfortunate fire. Thank you to Mrs Jones and Mr Yardley for another fantastic Forest School session, we are already looking forward to next week.
Base 4’s Art Lesson – 23.11.2023
Base 4 had a very creative afternoon, completing their mixed media Great Fire of London pictures in the style of David Best. Their finished pieces look very effective. Great job, Base 4!
Christmas Smile Project – Donation point
More vulnerable people in Telford will have the chance to open a present on Christmas Day this year because of YOU!
Apley wood Primary School is pleased to support the Christmas Smile Project for the second year running by hosting a closed donation point for you to drop off kind donations of gifts and presents for vulnerable children and adults living in Telford.
The project needs your donations to be new and un-opened, suitable for children and young people aged 0-17 years, vulnerable adults and the elderly. A drop-off point will be located in the main school reception area, or children may bring them into school to take to the office.
Please do not wrap your gifts as they will be checked and sorted by the Christmas Smile volunteer elves before being carefully selected for the recipient.

Children 3-6
