Headteacher’s Message

We have been celebrating the diversity we have in school this week.  We have celebrated the many different languages our children speak and each class has completed an activity to recognise and celebrate this diversity in school.  We have also shared our new welcome sign with the children which demonstrates many of the languages our children speak and is displayed in the office area. As part of our continued celebration of Diversity next week, we will be taking part in the NSPCC fundraising kindness challenge and spreading acts of kindness around school, demonstrating tolerance and mutual respect for others.  Please support us by sending in a small donation.  We work very closely with the NSCPCC and every donation goes to supporting their work with Childline.

Year 2 Forest School – 28.09.23

Year 2 had a brilliant morning at Forest School, learning all about what animals and humans need to survive. They created a shelter, foraged for edible plants, transported water using natural materials and discussed why fresh air and exercise were important for survival. A big thank you to Mr Yardley and Mrs Jones for an informative and very enjoyable science lesson!

Year 5 Science – 27.09.23

In Science this afternoon, Base 12 and 13 conducted an experiment where they answered the question:

Which material will be the best electrical conductor in a circuit?

We tested foil, paper clips, lollipop sticks, rubbers and copper coins. Some of us even extended our learning and combined all of the metal objects together and we found that the more metal objects within the circuit, the brighter the bulb. Others found that scissors were also an electrical conductor.
