Pray, Bake, Read

“Pray, Bake, Read is an initiative to get the church involved in the life of the school both practically and prayerfully.

Volunteers from Holy Trinity Church in Hadley have committed to three groups.

Group 1: Pray. The people in this group will include the school, the staff and the children in their daily prayer life.

Group 2: Bake. Sorry kids, this is for the staff only. We really appreciate the hard work of all the staff at Apley Wood, so we want give them a bit of a treat  because who doesn’t love cake right? Cakes will be placed in the staff room every half term.

Group 3: Read. A group from the church will come into the school to listen to the children read. This is such a rewarding thing to do and we are really looking forward to spending some one to one time with the fab children at Apley Wood. We might even learn a thing or two!

If you have any questions about Pray, Bake, Read, feel free to drop the Vicar, Fr Stuart a message on rev_stu@outlook.com

Year 1 Taste Test – 25.01.2023

Year 1 had the best Science lesson this morning! We completed a taste test, trying to identify; Sour, Sweet, Bitter and Salty food and drink.

We were surprised when the Popcorn was salty, not sweet and that the Tonic Water was so bitter! Lots of us enjoyed the Lemons and Limes, even if we did pull some funny faces! Our favourite was definitely the Chocolate Buttons.

Year 2 – Music Making 24.01.23

Year of the Rabbit – Craft Club 19.1.23

This week at Mrs Beardwood’s Art and Craft Club, we have been making paper rabbits to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Everyone enjoyed folding paper to make the spring and decorating their own bouncing bunny. Mrs Beardwood is really impressed with the resilience and teamwork of all the children in the club.
