10 By 10 Celebration Event – School Council

4 members of our school council took part in a celebration event for the first anniversary of the Telford 10 by 10 scheme. This scheme encourages children to have a go at 10 specified activities by the age of 10. These range from over night visits to debating, visiting a library and learning to swim. The celebration event was a fantastic opportunity to see children from our local schools singing and show casing their dancing. We were also lucky enough to have talks from various members of the council including the director of education, Simon Wellman. Once again, the pupils from Apley were fantastic at the event and represented our school brilliantly. Well done Aaron, Alexandra and Sophia in year 4 and Efosa in year 3.

Base 6 Art WB 19.06.23

This term in Art Year 1 have been looking at the work of Dutch Artist Piet Mondrian. He is known for being one of the pioneers of 20th-century abstract art. He focuses on using straight lines and simple geometric shapes.
On Tuesday we went outside to sketch the school building, focusing on the straight lines and shapes we could see.

Sewing Fun – 19.06.2023

Base 3 have really enjoyed sewing their puppets this morning. The children really enjoyed it and are now ready to start decorating their puppets to give the animals their features.

Computing with Mr G – 19.06.2023

Another fantastic afternoon with Mr Gerrie this afternoon. We have continued to build on our Scratch Jr. projects. Everyone blew us away with their resilience and problem solving skills. It was also great to hear the children using computing vocabulary to explain to one another, what they were doing.

Carpark

A reminder to those that have access to the school carpark to keep speed to a minimum and park within the lined bays.

We have a lot of pedestrians walking in front of the main carpark gates at peak times so please be mindful of this when exiting the carpark.
