Headteacher’s Message 20.10.2023
We have had a number of visitors to school this week including Father Stuart for our Harvest Assembly and Year 2 class visit, our attached advisor, who carried out a look at Geography across school and the Bikeability Team who are working with Year 6. All of these visitors have commented on the behaviour, effort and fantastic contributions of the children during their activities with them. I am very proud of the ethos, manners and values our children demonstrate here at Apley and love having visitors in school to share this.
Well done to everyone who has taken part in Athletics this week. We have had large groups of children able to participate this week and the KS1 group were particularly excited about their activities as they left school on Wednesday. Thank you to staff and families who have supported us with transport this week.

20/10/23 – Y2 Author Visit
Year 2 have been very lucky to Have a visit from local author JK Keane this morning. We enjoyed hearing her read from her books and learning about where she gets her inspiration from.
Her books, Mia is Lost and Mia Fights Back, are about a little, black kitten that gets into all sorts of adventures. The children listened beautifully and loved looking at the beautiful illustrations.

Kids4£1 is back this October half term!
Take a look at the brochure for all the activities on offer which includes badminton, fun and floats, driving range, bike hub, tobogganing, tots donuts and tennis. Activities are on offer from Monday 30 October to Sunday 5 November 2023.

Jeevan and Amrita meet Frank Bruno
Jeevan and Amrita were very lucky to attend Collins Aerospace in Wolverhampton to meet Frank Bruno. Frank was attending a mental health event held by the company.
Indoor Athletics 2023
What a week for sport at Apley Wood, 38 Children representing the school in the indoor Sportshall Athletics. They all did incredibly well with KS2 finishing 13th out of 20 then we had KS1 finishing 5th out of 15 then yesterday yr5/6 finishing 1st place overall!!!
Harvest
A huge thank you to everyone who donated something for our harvest appeal. We had an incredible response and are very grateful indeed. All donations have been sent to ‘Kip’, a charity which supports homeless people.
