Base 3 – Greenfingers!

Well Avani has been extremely busy!

Firstly, she has created a superb poster about washing hands, which is SO important at the moment and looks fantastic.

Secondly, she has planted a range of seeds in pots. Avani is growing tomatoes, peppers, herbs and cress to eat and use in her cooking but she is also growing some sunflowers. I wonder how tall they could grow…keep us updates Avani!

If you have any work you would like to share with me, send it over – helen.gilbert@taw.org.uk

Stay safe! 😊

Base 3 Busy Bees 🐝

Before and during the Easter Holidays, Aluna and Seren have been very busy reading, writing and completing some times table practise. Well done girls – fantastic!

If anyone else would like to send Miss Gilbert their wonderful work, please email it across to me – helen.gilbert@taw.org.uk

Stay safe and keep working hard!

Our thank you message

Some of the children, who were in school during the first week of Easter, have created a video with a thank you message and a reminder to have faith. They used chalk to write words of thanks and decorate images of hope. Enjoy!

Keep Singing!

Hi Everyone

Did you know singing is good for your mental and physical health? You all know how much I love to sing! Well now the Sing Up website we use in my assemblies has released some resources to keep us all singing.

Have a go at the Song of the Week – One moment, one people. There is a video to help you and you can download lyrics too.

https://www.singup.org/singupathome/song-of-the-week

Make sure you also check out ‘Sing Up at Home’ where you will find a range of fun playlists and resources to keep you singing. There are even sign language videos.

We will be using some of these songs in assembly when we get back to school.

Have fun and keep singing

Mrs Beardwood

Nessy – https://learn.nessy.com/account/login#/accountLogin

(TIMELYPEST)

Practise your reading and spelling on this website. It starts off relatively easy but gets more tricky as you move through the islands. This is great for those children who have not yet passed their phonic screening check.

MyMaths – https://www.mymaths.co.uk/

(log in details in the back of reading diaries)

Miss Gilbert has added a range of activities for you to complete on a daily and weekly basis. There will be plenty for you to learn, especially areas of the curriculum we still haven’t covered so definitely check this out.

TT Rockstars – https://ttrockstars.com/

(log in details in the back of reading diaries)

You have lots of games to play using your x2, x5 and x10 times tables so keep practising and challenging each other!

Purple Mash – https://www.purplemash.com/sch/apley

(log in details in the back of reading diaries)

You can choose a range of different activities, from all different subjects on Purple Mash. If you save them, Miss Gilbert and Mrs Nightingale can see what you have been up to!

Weekly Challenge – Number 4

For your challenge this week, Miss Gilbert and Mrs Nightingale would like you to complete a weekly diary. Please click on the link below to see an example of what your diary could look like.

Weekly Diary for Year 2

Use this as an example of what your page could look like. You can design your own on paper or digitally with your own ideas, e.g. if you will be doing a lot of cooking this week, you could include a section to show this. If you wish to print off this diary to use then great!

We are really looking forward to seeing what you all get up to this week!

Year 2 Book Activities

Have a look at the attached link for some fantastic activities for all areas of the curriculum linked to some lovely and very popular books aimed at year 2 children such as ‘Funny Bones’ and ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’.
