Wednesday 9th October Pro Strike Day

 

The whole school will be taking part in the pro strike day which involves having 3 attempts kicking the ball as hard as you can into the goal. There is a range of prizes to be won depending on how many sponsors are gained. There will be a pro strike trophy for the student who gains the most sponsors.

Year 6 Sports Day

Today, Year 6 participated in their final Sports Day here at Apley Wood. From javelin to the 100m hurdles, everyone had such an amazing time. A special thank you to the weather for staying so warm as well!

Yr5/6 Girls Cricket Champions!!!!

Well done to our Yr5/6 girls to compete in the TWSSP Cricket tournament yesterday at St George’s cricket club. They managed to win all their games and progressed to the final beating Redhill by 3 runs.

 

 

Yr5/6 Swimming Gala

Well done to our Yr5/6 Swimming team they did incredibly well especially for those who competed for the first time. Most of our team was made up of Yr5’s so they will be ready to compete next year.

KS1 Multi-skills

KS1 competed in the Multi-skills festival yesterday taking part in various activities such as Hockey, Volleyball and many more. The children really enjoyed trying new sports that they haven’t done before.

Cross Country Race 2 2024

Apley Wood yesterday entered in the TWSSP Cross Country event at Chetywnd Deer park competing against over 12 schools and over 200 Children. Apley Wood did extremely well never giving up and completed every race.  It is an incredible achievement for our children to finish in the top 15.

Yr3/4 Boys Cup Final

Yr3/4 Boys  Cup final is on Thursday 9th May at AFC Telford Ground (Bucks Head) the team would love your support, This is the first final since joining Reach2 so lets celebrate together. Mr Mountford wants to see lots of posters and banners at the game

KS2 Tennis

Our Ks2 Students participated in the TWSSP Tennis festival yesterday learning new skills and working on their coordination. They all had a great time representing the school.

Yr3/4 Indoor Cricket

Our Yr3/4 Cricket participated in the Telford and Wrekin school sports partnership Cricket Festival at Telford Tennis Centre. The team played 5 games and winning all of them with some great batting and fielding they scored 280 runs in the whole tournament.
