Last day of the year!

A HUGE well done to all of the children in Reception. We have been absolutely amazed by what a fantastic first year of school the children have had. They have grown so much and we are proud of the immense progress they have made in their own individual ways. Although we are sad to see them go, we know that they are going to absolutely smash year one- they are more than ready!

On behalf of all the Reception staff, a massive thank you for the kind words and gifts you have shared with us at the end of term. We never expect this, but we really appreciate the thoughts.

Have a great summer holiday and we look forward to seeing the children start their year one adventure in September!

5 a day!

Reception took part in a ‘5 a day’ workshop with Eat Well. They had the opportunity to try sweet potato, Broad beans, Cauliflower, Spinach, Beetroot, Radishes, Peaches, Blueberries and Honeydew melon. We were really impressed with how they all tried the food and we even found a few foods that we liked!

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

On Wednesday, Reception will be having a Teddy Bear’s Picnic as an end of year treat. The children can bring a teddy bear or a soft toy to school on this day. We will be making a small sandwich for them to eat at the picnic which will take place within our Reception outside area. If there are any changes to your child’s dietary requirements please do inform the office. The children do not need to bring anything else in for this. This will take place in the morning, so they will have their lunch as normal on this day.

Kicking off STEAM week!

After the disappointment of the football result last night, what a Monday we have had! We have been blown away by the effort the children have made with their STEAM week costumes. We talked about where their costume fitted in with STEAM as well. Thank you for all your efforts supporting our special week in school. We are excited to see what other activities the week has in store!

Summer Holiday Activities

Telford Urban Games – Free Sports Activities

Looking for something different to do this Summer Holiday?

Urban Games is Telford & Wrekin Council’s free programme of sports for kids, aged eight to 16, and wildlife activities for little ones, all taking place in a supervised space. It’s a great chance for children to have fun and learn new skills.

There really is something for everyone and with the Paris Olympics taking place this summer, children can get in on the action by having a go at archery, fencing, football, wrestling and table tennis.

All activities are run by qualified professionals at locations across the borough. There is no need to book a place.

Sessions are free to attend funded by the council’s Safer & Stronger Communities programme with support from the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.

Reception Sports Day!

On Monday, reception took part in their first Sports Day at Apley Wood. Everyone tried their best in all of the activities and we are incredibly proud of their efforts. Well done to all the grown ups who took part in the races at the end! A wonderful afternoon filled with fun!

Online Safety Parental Controls user guide

This guide will help you set up parental controls and adjust privacy settings to provide your
child with a safer online environment. Parental controls can help to protect your child from
seeing something that they shouldn’t — although it is important to emphasise that no system
is effective all of the time, so it is important to engage with your child and talk to them about
their online life regularly.

Wednesday 3rd July

Next week, we will all be practicing ready for our sports day. On Wednesday, the children will need to come to school in their PE kit. Base 2 will not be going to forest school on this morning. Please make sure your child has a sun hat in school as we will be out for the majority of the morning.
