Reception homework

This week in Reception we are reading the story ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff.’ For maths homework we would like the children to get creative and use any resources they can find at home (cardboard boxes, lego, play dough) to build some bridges for the goats to cross. Can they make three? Can they make a big, medium and small bridge? Can they test the bridges to see which one can hold the most weight?

Have a great week,

Reception Team

Nature art

Base 2 children had a lovely morning in the sunshine for Forest School. They went on a journey around the school grounds and collected natural materials that they could use to stick on their journey sticks. They also made some lovely nature bracelets too.

Maths homework 14/06/21

At the sink, in the bath or in your paddling pool play with a selection of different sized containers. Can you fill and empty the containers? Can you show a container that is full? Nearly full? Half full? Nearly empty? Empty?

Take one container and fill it with water. Can you find another container that will hold more? Can you find another that will hold less? Can you put the containers in order?

Have fun!

Shape creations

In our Maths this week we have been revisiting 2D and 3D shapes. We had to use our creative and team working skills. We looked at everyday objects and matched them to our 3D shapes. We talked about the  properties of each shape. We used lolly pop sticks and playdough to create our shapes. Have a look at some of our great work!

Welcome back!

Welcome back everyone! We hope you all had a safe and restful half term in the beautiful weather. It’s looking like we’re going to get some warm weather so please can you apply sun cream before your child comes to school, send your child with a named sun hat and water bottle and a bottle of sun cream that we can keep in school if we need to reapply (named again please).

Many Thanks

The Reception Team
