Yr3/4 Indoor Cricket

Our Yr3/4 Cricket participated in the Telford and Wrekin school sports partnership Cricket Festival at Telford Tennis Centre. The team played 5 games and winning all of them with some great batting and fielding they scored 280 runs in the whole tournament.

Apley Wood 6 vs Oldpark 1

Our Yr3/4 Boys played their first game of the year this week against Oldpark Primary School, Apley Scored some great team goals and battled well to get the win and having different players on the scoresheet.

Yr5/6 Boys Progress into the Quarter Final.

Apley Wood Boys progress to the quarter final after beating Priorslee academy 3-2. The Boys went 1-0 down in the first 10 minutes but this didn’t stop them passing the ball as a team and creating chances, Apley Wood equalise to make it 1-1 with a well work goal, 1 minute towards half time Priorslee scored to make it 2-1. Second half Apley Wood didn’t give up and manage to score two to make it 3-2 and came out winners.

Indoor Athletics 2023

What a week for sport at Apley Wood, 38 Children representing the school in the indoor Sportshall Athletics. They all did incredibly well with KS2 finishing 13th out of 20 then we had KS1 finishing 5th out of 15 then yesterday yr5/6 finishing 1st place overall!!!

KS2 cross Country 2023

Well Done to our KS2 Cross country team they all did amazing against over 100 children taking part representing their schools.

Yr5/6 Girls VS Albrighton primary School

Our Yr5/6 girls team started their league campaign against Albrighton Primary which was a very close game but Apley Wood persevered and managed to get the win and 3pts in the league.

Yr 5/6 Boys Football Tournament

The Yr5/6 Boys football team participated in the Telford and Wrekin School Sports partnership football Tournament. The Boys had to play 3 games in their group, winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 1 they did really well in all games working together and never give up. They now wait to see if they have progressed to the cup or Plate Knockout.

This Friday Mr Mountford will be holding a Yr3/4 Boys Football trials at lunchtime from 1pm till 1.30pm, they will need to bring suitable footwear and shinpads

YR 3/4 Girls Football Trials

Hope everyone has had a good summer, The football season is back!!!! This Friday Mr Mountford is doing Football trials for Yr3/4 girls for the upcoming season this will be at lunchtime from 1pm till 1:30pm if they wish to attend they will need to bring shinpads and suitable shoes.
