Year 4 Arthog Outreach – 31/1/23

Over the last few weeks, Year 4 have really been enjoying their visits to Arthog Outreach. They conquered their fears and showed fantastic resilience by scaling the climbing walls. Some children even managed to climb to the top blindfolded. They also showed super teamwork skills by escaping the elastic. Well done Year 4 and a big thank you to the Arthog Outreach team.

Year of the Rabbit – Craft Club 19.1.23

This week at Mrs Beardwood’s Art and Craft Club, we have been making paper rabbits to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Everyone enjoyed folding paper to make the spring and decorating their own bouncing bunny. Mrs Beardwood is really impressed with the resilience and teamwork of all the children in the club.

Year 4 Maths Homework (9.1.23)

In preparation for our Times Tables assessments later in the year, we would like all children to be accessing Times Tables Rock Stars weekly. We would like every child to be working on TTRS for at least 15 minutes each week including completing a Soundcheck assessment. This will be in place of My Maths homework.

Thank you

Mrs Beardwood, Mrs Richards and Mrs Williams

Y4 Super Artists

This week Year 4 have been creating paintings in the style of Vincent Van Gogh. They have studied his use of line to show movement and to add shades and tones to their work. They have created landscapes of stormy seas and portraits of the artist himself. Well done Year 4.

South Asian heritage Workshop

On Wednesday 13th, Year 4 will be having a South Asian Heritage Workshop that includes dance and yoga. The children will need to come into school in their PE kits please.

Thanks

Mrs Beardwood and Mr Taylor

Y4 Conkers Trip

Year 4 had a fantastic day at Conkers today. The sun shone on us all as we had a go at the activity trail and the barefoot walk. Great fun was had by everyone!

Year 3/4 Sports Day

The Year 3 and 4 Sports Day will be held on Tuesday 28th June from 9:30 until 11:45.

Children can wear a T-shirt of their house colour with their PE kit. If this is not possible Apley Wood PE kits should be worn. They will need to bring their own water bottles but refills will be available. If the weather is hot, please ensure your child is wearing sun cream and a hat.
