Home Learning

Here’s a reminder of the home learning information we shared last week:

Summer term topics

This term, our topics are ‘Fairtrade’ and ‘Animals Including Humans’. Below are some lesson ideas and links that you could follow. For all of these, you do not need to print anything – you can either use a pen and paper or do it online.

Science – Animals Including Humans

You can work your way through these six lessons about the human anatomy. When you open this link, download the file. Then open each file titled ‘Lesson 1 -6’. Inside these folders are great lessons with PowerPoints and resources. https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/tp2-s-090-planit-science-year-6-animals-including-humans-unit-pack

Before school closed, children were given their Spring homework project. If you didn’t get round to completing it here’s a reminder: homework spring. We received some lovely photos of some very creative chocolate bars and would love to see more!

Don’t forget to look out for the weekly challenges – the current challenge is to make a habitat for an animal of your choice (see the previous post shared earlier today).

Weekly Challenge- keep them coming!

Thank you to Alyssa and Ellie-Mae who have sent in pictures for their weekly challenge- keep them coming!

Ellie-Mae created her habitat for a hedgehog and it definitely looks very cosy! She has used recyclable resources to create the structure of her habitat herself and then filled it with collected leaves which are ideal for a hedgehog in need of a home!

Alyssa has used her creativity to make an ideal habitat for a sloth (which I believe happens to be her favourite animal!). Using an old fish tank and creating a scenic backdrop, it’s the perfect place for a sloth to enjoy spending its day hanging in the sun!

Alyssa’s also made an excellent video to show the creation of her habitat. It’s great to see the little details that went into making it perfect.

Continuing the weekly challenge

Miss Morgan and I enjoyed receiving these creative habitats and we’re going to keep this challenge going for another week as we’d love to see even more!

You could draw your habitat for an animal of your choice, label the different features and explain why you have used them. You could even create your own habitat using things from your house (like cardboard, plastic etc) and write an explanation about why your habitat would suit the animal you have chosen. Be creative!

If you complete the challenge, please send your pictures to:

We look forward to seeing some more of your incredible creations!

Home update- Keeping busy

Ellie-Mae is making the most of her time by keeping active and getting stuck into her home learning! She’s been using her laptop to complete online work and have a go at the ‘workout’ resources. Additionally, she’s taken advantage of the glorious weather to keep active outside with bike rides and playing in the pool. Look like you’re having a wonderful time!

It’s lovely seeing all the great things you’ve been doing Ellie- receiving photos definitely makes our day!

Year 6- you are welcome to keep sending photos and updates to me and Miss Morgan as we love to see what you’ve been up to!
